Silent Encounters | Pavel Petros

This series was taken in the eastern part of the Czech Republic, where I live.  The photographs capture my closest surroundings, places that would grab my attention on the way from or to work, or trips. I take my camera with me every day. Sometimes I randomly run into something worth capturing and other times it is a process of searching - but it always comes from observing the light. In some cases, I would visit one place more times before I take the picture in the favourable light. A theme accompanying this series is “finding beauty in the mundane”.

In my photos, I put the emphasis on colour, composition and shadows.  Someone told me, that there is some kind of silence that makes my pictures strong. I identified with this idea, and later, it inspired me to call the series Silent Encounters.
